So…where to begin? I started this blog because I feel that I’m going through a very important phase in my development as a musician. I’m starting to “find my voice” as they say. So lately I’ve been trying to focus on those elements which I’m truly interested in, in order to develop a personal style.
What are those elements? To keep it short: I’m trying to apply concepts I learned (and that I’m still learning) from composition (counterpoint, form, development, etc…) into those styles which come naturally to me…mainly rock, among other
things.
I also want to apply certain concepts I’ve learned from jazz: Improvisation,
of course, but certain aspects of rhythm and harmony as well.
Basically, I want to accumulate all my tastes and experience into one
unified music. The end result? I don’t know yet. Stay tuned…
