Misty, Chorale-style
By Ernesto | May 31, 2008
Getting back on track, here’s a little voice-leading etude I did with Misty. Four voices; top voice is the melody. Basically, I tried to voice-lead the two middle lines as smoothly possible, which led to some pretty crazy stretches. But I think the resulting sound is pretty nice. I especially like what happens on bar 26.
Anyway, here’s a sheet of the basic arrangement.
And a recording. I’m still working on it, but it’s getting there:

It sounds good.
I found it a bit slow : imho you must work on the speedy as well as the mood of this jazz masterpiece.
Try to change key, to introduce some new voices that could make easier the handing of the chords.
Have a nice time!

Yeah, can’t really play it any faster at the moment. I was purposely doing it in the original key to see how far i could go with it…basically I was just making things hard for myself
THanks for the comments,
