Update on the solo guitar album

I’ve been a bit behind with the solo guitar album and haven’t added any new music to it in a while. But I realized that I already have more than enough music for it…it’s just a matter of recording it.

So my goal now is to finish recording the remaining songs by the end of September. That means the album should be done some time in October/November if everything goes as planned.

It’ll mainly be a digital release, but I’ll most likely make some physical copies to sell at gigs and other such things.

I’m thinking of this album as a precursor for another album which I’d like to release early next year. It’ll have a lot of the same songs arranged for more instruments. But more on that later…

Summertime

Here’s a video from a concert a few years back. It’s an arrangement of Summertime with the percussionist Omar Díaz. It was a one-off concert we did together; we did some jazz standards and a few of my songs from Wood. I might add a few more songs from it later on.

Another Song for the album

I finished The Single Purpose Room for the solo guitar album. This time I decided to record the different parts seperately to have a bit of fun with the mix. I even brought back the percussion samples I used on Wood to make drum part.

As always, you can download it for free at Bandcamp.

Now that I’m four songs in, I really feel like like that the album is taking shape. I’m already getting anxious to finish it!

Matt Stevens Remixed

Matt Stevens recently offered some stems from his track Burning Bandstands to be remixed. I thought it’d be fun, and ended up turning it into Meshuggah-style metal romp. Matt released it as part of his Sunday Free Noodle series, check it out on his blog.

For those that don’t know him, Matt is a phenomanal guitarist from the UK who uses live-looping to create some wonderful music. He has one CD out called Echo, and a new one coming out very soon called Ghost.

I’ve been sitting on this music for a while, and decided to release it now as an EP.

It’s music I worked on while traveling, before I ended up in Berlin. I’m insanely proud of these songs, but they don’t really fit with anything I’m doing at the moment, so here they are.
